This patient had a several year history of bilateral foot numbness, tingling, and burning pain. She had been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy of unknown etiology or (idiopathic peripheral neuropathy). When she presented to us, we diagnosed her with compression of the tibial nerve both in the tarsal tunnel (tarsal tunnel syndrome) and in the calf (soleal sling syndrome). She had a staged procedure and had a tarsal tunnel release on both ankles followed by a decompression of the tibial nerve in the calf. She has had a very good response.
