Description
This patient had Causalgia, or complex regional pain syndrome after a lateral ankle stabilization procedure performed elsewhere. She did not respond to conservative therapy. Her pain was caused by a compressed common peroneal nerve and painful neuromas of the sural nerve and the superficial peroneal nerve. She responded well to removal of the branches of the sural and superficial peroneal nerves and a decompression or nerve release of the common peroneal nerve.
