This is a very complex patient who was diagnosed originally as having RSD after she was struck in the inside of her ankle by a fast pitch softball. This initiated several years of excruciating pain. When we saw her, her pain was severe, and amputation was considered. She had several procedures in a staged approach to resolve the causes of her pain. We diagnosed her with causalgia due to a compression of the common peroneal nerve, tarsal tunnel syndrome, and neuromas of the superficial peroneal nerve and sural nerve.
